Create videos from your images
Turn any image into a short animated clip, or generate a video from a text prompt. This article covers how to start a video, the default model, and the resolution and duration settings.
exactly.ai can turn your images into short video clips or generate videos from a text prompt. Video generation runs on dedicated video models — the default is Seedance 2.0.
Animate an image
Hover over any image in your project and click Animate
The image is attached as the reference for the video, and the default video model is selected automatically
Optionally, describe the motion you want in the prompt
Click Create
The same action is available when viewing an image full-screen. In a new empty project, the Create video tile starts the same flow.
Generate a video from a prompt
You can also start from scratch:
Open the model selector in the prompt bar and pick a video model
Write a prompt describing the scene and the motion
Optionally, attach a reference image
Click Create
Video settings
With a video model selected, the prompt bar shows video-specific settings:
Resolution — the available options depend on the model. For Seedance 2.0: 720p, 1080p, or 4K. New generations start at 720p.
Duration — the clip length in seconds; the options depend on the model. For Seedance 2.0: 5, 10, or 15 seconds. The default is 5 seconds.
Your choices are remembered for your next video generations. If a model doesn't support the selected resolution, the closest available option is used.
Cost
Video generation uses credits, like image generation. The cost depends on the model, resolution, and duration — the exact cost for your current settings is shown in the prompt bar before you generate. See the pricing page for details.
Video generation is available on paid plans.
