Removing image backgrounds

Background Removal automatically detects the main subject in your image and makes the background transparent.

The image is returned as a PNG with transparency by default. You can also export it as a JPEG — in that case, the transparent areas are filled with white.

Transparent PNGs can be upscaled to 8K or vectorized.

Background removal costs 2 credits per image. You only pay once — re-exporting or returning to the background-removed version later doesn't cost extra.

How to use it

1. Click on an image to open the viewer

2. Open the Remove Background pane

3. Wait for the background removal to complete

4. The background-removed version is saved in the image history. You can return to it at any time by clicking the thumbnail in the history panel or by clicking "Remove Background" again

5. Go to the Export pane

6. Choose PNG or JPEG format (PNG is the default)

7. Click "Export" to download the image

Feature availability

Background removal is available for:

• Exactly 1.0 Agentic images — at any time, no license needed

• Base Model, Artist Style and Private Style images — at any time. Removing the background from a watermarked image licenses it at that moment

Background removal is one of the four actions that apply a license, so there is no separate purchase step in front of it. The license is applied once, on the first of those actions, and the credit cost is unchanged either way. If you have no licenses left the action is not available, and you are pointed to contact us.
