How credits and licenses work on the platform

Credits pay for generation, editing, training, and other actions. Licenses unlock individual images for download and commercial use. You can buy both one-off, or subscribe to a recurring license delivery for a discount.
Credits and licenses are the two main resources used on exactly.ai.
Credits pay for actions — generating images, editing, upscaling, training styles, vectorization, background removal.
Licenses unlock individual images for download and commercial use.
How to use credits
You need credits for:
Generating images
Editing (Instruct, Replace, Recreate, Erase)
Training Private Styles (first style is free)
Upscaling
Background removal
Vectorization
For exact per-feature pricing, see the pricing page.
You can get credits by:
Buying a one-time credit pack
Buying or subscribing to image licenses — each license includes 100 bonus credits
How to use licenses
A license unlocks a single image. With a license you get:
No watermark on the image
Downloads up to 8K, including SVG vector export
Edit operations: upscale, background removal
Full personal and commercial rights — worldwide, perpetual, and royalty-free
100 bonus credits
You need a license for images generated with Private Styles and Artist Styles. Base Model images don't require a license (usage rights depend on the model provider). Exactly 1.0 Agentic images also don't require a license — they're free to use for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
You can get licenses by:
A single license — one image, one-time purchase
A license pack — multiple licenses in a single purchase, better unit price
A license subscription — recurring monthly or yearly license delivery, with the best unit price
A license subscription is cheaper per-license than buying one at a time. Paying for a year upfront is the most cost-effective option — you get a license delivery every month throughout the year.
For current rates, see the pricing page.
Each license can be used on any supported image — whether generated with a Private Style or an Artist Style.
Expiration & cancellation
Credits and licenses from a license subscription roll over each month, up to one month's allocation. Anything above that limit expires.
One-time purchases of credits and licenses expire 12 months after purchase if unused.
If you cancel a license subscription, remaining unused subscription credits and licenses are forfeited at the end of the billing period.
One-time purchases are not affected by cancellation — they remain valid until their own expiration date.
Rules & limitations
Credits and licenses are:
Non-refundable
Non-transferable
Tied to your account only
Not exchangeable for money
You can always top up with additional credits or licenses as needed.
