What are credits and licenses?
Credits are used to pay for image generation, editing, upscaling, and other features.
Licenses are used to acquire rights to individual images — including downloads, commercial use, or vector export.
How do I get credits and licenses?
You can purchase them as one-time packs or via monthly/yearly subscriptions.
Subscriptions are more cost-effective — monthly plans are cheaper than one-time packs, and yearly plans offer the best deal.
Each time you purchase or subscribe to image licenses, you also receive 100 bonus credits per license.
How often are credits and licenses added?
If you’re on a monthly or yearly subscription, credits and licenses are added to your balance every month.
What happens if I run out of credits or licenses?
You can always buy more at any time or upgrade to a higher subscription package.
Do unused credits and licenses expire?
As long as your license subscription is active, any unused credits and licenses roll over to the next month. However, you can carry over up to one month’s worth of your current monthly allocation (the Roll-over Limit). Anything above that will expire.
Single purchases (not part of a subscription) expire 12 months after the purchase date if not used. Expired credits and licenses are automatically removed from your account.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You can continue using your credits and licenses until the end of the current billing cycle.
After that, all remaining unused credits and licenses are permanently forfeited.
One-time purchases of credits and licenses are not affected by subscription status — they remain valid until their individual expiration date.
How does training work for private styles?
Your first private style is free to train. All styles are created in demo mode and remain available without expiration. Demo styles let you test generation quality with watermark-protected previews.
If you want to use an image commercially or download it without a watermark, you can purchase a license for that specific image by clicking “Unlock image”.
Each additional style training costs 50 credits.
How much does image generation cost?
Images generated with private styles or artist-created styles cost 1 credit per image.
Images generated with base models cost from 1 to 3 credits per image, depending on the model.
How do licenses work?
A license gives you the right to download and use one specific image commercially.
You need 1 license per image. If you don’t have a license available, the image will display a watermark.
Licenses are required for:
Using generated images outside the platform
Downloading images from artist-created styles
Accessing SVG or high-res exports (2K and above)
You can spend licenses on any image — whether it was generated with an artist-created style or your own private style.
What type of rights do licenses provide?
Licenses used for images generated with:
Private styles or artist-created styles grant unlimited personal and commercial rights.
Base models do not require licenses from exactly.ai — the rights are governed by the provider of the model.
Who owns the rights to a private style?
The creator of the style — as long as they have the rights to the training images.
Why don’t I automatically own the rights to images generated with my style?
Because each image is generated using Exactly.ai’s proprietary technology.
You get full rights only after purchasing a license for that specific image.
Do I own the rights to the images I generate?
Only if you have a valid image license for that specific image.
Licenses give you full personal and commercial rights.
If the image was generated without a license, it can only be used inside the platform (for previews or internal projects).
Can I share my styles or credits?
You can share your private styles with teammates.
Credits and licenses are tied to your account and cannot be transferred.
Is my training data safe?
Yes. Your training data is encrypted, securely stored, and never reused to train other models.
Even when you share a style, no one else can access your dataset.
