How this software startup brought their app to life on social media with exactly.ai

Founded by former Google engineer Dan-George Filimon, Amulet AI is a Zurich-based software startup on a mission to help people better understand themselves and others around them.

The challenge

When Amulet AI first began developing Qybala, they commissioned an illustrator to bring their vision to life. They designed an entire deck of 88 tarot cards, each one featuring original artwork that reflected its symbolic meaning. A process that took over four months of careful iteration, collaboration and review.

While the results were stunning, the team hit a wall when it came to their marketing materials. How were they going to translate these beautiful and meaningful illustrations into fresh visuals for social media? They hoped to use the artwork to tell stories but worried that reusing card elements might quickly become repetitive. They needed another solution.

The second issue they faced was the scale of production. In one case, they had planned an 8-story series for Instagram based on user desires. This narrative format would need 3 slides each, meaning 24 illustrations in total.

Creating that by hand would have been impossible for their illustrators to keep up with each month. Each new concept required weeks of work. They needed a faster, more flexible way to create complementary visuals.

The solution

After experimenting with other AI image tools and briefly considering building their own, Dan discovered exactly.ai while searching for a way to scale their marketing assets without losing their signature style.

He trained a custom model based on the existing tarot card illustrations and was pleasantly surprised by how it captured the original solar-punk-inspired aesthetic.

Even their team of illustrators were impressed – many didn’t realise the images had been generated by AI. Amulet AI won’t be replacing their illustrators, instead this solution allows them to expand what’s possible to share their vision with a wider audience.
