Understanding each license type and picking the right one for you

To download and use an image generated using an exactly.ai public style for your personal or commercial projects, you’ll need to purchase a licence. We’re making updates to our licence structure to provide you with greater flexibility, clarity, and confidence—whether you’re working on personal projects or professional campaigns.

Our new image licence structure offers clear terms for different levels of use, aligning more closely with industry standards and providing options to suit any use case. This means you can create with confidence, knowing you’re supported by fair and transparent guidelines. Most importantly, these updates ensure proper compensation for the talented artists whose work was used to train these models.

Why we are making changes to the licences

We’ve recently enhanced the core functionality of our products, enabling us to deliver production-ready images which faithfully replicate the original styles of artists. This means that images generated with exactly.ai are comparable to purchasing from an established library or commissioning directly from an artist, while still offering the added flexibility and efficiency of using an AI model.

These updates also coincide with our exciting new partnership with Art Lab Agency. Through this collaboration, we’re proud to feature models in our marketplace from top illustrators whose work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, BBC, Penguin Random House, and The Washington Post.

To ensure fair compensation for all the illustrators on our platform, we’re introducing the following changes to our licence structure:

The new licence and download structure

Personal use

Download a high-resolution image without a watermark for use in non-commercial projects.

• Price: £30 per image
• Includes: 8K JPEG + SVG files for personal, non-commercial use.
• Use case: Personal projects, such as home decor, gifting, or social media (non-commercial), not permitted for resale or commercial use.
• Ideal for: Hobbyists, students, and small personal projects.

Terms of license to be granted: Non-exclusive, Worldwide, Perpetual, for non-commercial use only (personal projects, such as home decor, gifting, or social media (non-commercial), not permitted for resale. This license cannot be used in any promotional or business-related context, even indirectly.

Commercial digital only

This licence grants the non-exclusive right to use the image for commercial purposes across digital mediums. You cannot resell or redistribute these images.

• Price: £75 per image
• Includes: 8K JPEG + SVG files for commercial use.
• Use case: Digital-only commercial use (e.g., websites, ads, small-scale e-commerce).
• Ideal for: Independent businesses, small-scale e-commerce, or limited-run products.

Restrictions:

• Cannot be used for physical products intended for resale (e.g., merchandise like t-shirts or stationery).
• No resale or redistribution of the file itself.

Terms of License to be granted: Non-exclusive, Worldwide, Perpetual, for Digital-only commercial use (e.g., Websites, digital ads, and social media for commercial purposes). Cannot be used for physical products intended for resale (e.g., merchandise like t-shirts or stationery). Resale or redistribution of the file itself is not allowed. Attribution to the creator and exactly.ai must be prominently displayed in digital uses, where applicable.

Commercial Non-Exclusive Unlimited

This licence permits the unlimited use of the image for commercial purposes across digital and physical media.

• Price: £125
• Includes: 8K JPEG + SVG files for commercial use.
• Use case: Unlimited production and sales across all platforms.
• Territory: Worldwide.
• Duration: Lifetime (or perpetual).
• Ideal for: Global, unrestricted usage in digital and print materials for large-scale campaigns, merchandise, and branding. Ideal for mass-market projects.

Terms of License to be granted: Non-exclusive, Worldwide, Perpetual, Unlimited Commercial Usage Rights: all digital, print, and physical applications. Resale or redistribution of the file itself is allowed.
