Relaunching creative commissions

We are happy to announce that we are resuming our series of creative commissions. Soon, we will be sharing our latest briefs and offering new opportunities for our community to start earning again from their AI models.

Last week, we made the decision to put the competition series on hold due to a complaint from a renowned illustrator, whose name we mistakenly used in our previous brief. Doing so was seen as implicit encouragement to use her work, without consent, to train an AI model for submission. Behavior that we not only strongly discourage but which also goes against the competition rules.

We took immediate action following the complaint and disqualified submissions which had broken this rule. We apologise once again to our users who submitted models trained on their own work and to those who were unable to submit to the competition as it had been closed. We are committed to creating new commission opportunities to ensure artists have a chance to compete for financial rewards and the opportunity to have their models published in our library for use by brands.

To be clear on the rules of creative commissions: your submission will only be valid if the model is trained on your original work.

As a company at the forefront of championing the rights of artists in AI we appreciate this opportunity to improve ourselves, to learn and make up for our behaviour. We recognize the importance of protecting artistic integrity and will be more vigilant to prevent such issues in the future.

We look forward to your submissions and continuing to learn and grow as a community.
