About

My model is a tool I’m using to ideate with ceramics - so I’ve used ceramic pieces to train it. I use the model and a varying set of prompts to riff off my ideas and quickly iterate. I select different aspects of the generated images in part to use in some way or as inspiration for other artworks. Currently, the model is creating unique images of animalistic and anthropomorphic ceramic vessels, plaques and sculptures for me.

Mel Rosen has a MFA from Tyler/Temple University and a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design with additional study at Temple University in Rome, Italy and University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. She has shown nationally and internationally. As an interdisciplinary artist, she aims to address the tentative physicality of today’s world. Sometimes with humor, sometimes with gentility, sometimes with horror, mimicking what she takes in from observing life around her.
